The n00b.in blog.

isBored started at SaurabhGarg.com sometime last year (here). I think it was a summer afternoon, lulled even more by a heavy lunch and lack of actionables. To kill boredom and in part to help me keep busy, I hacked a PHP shoutbox script and created isBored.

Since n00b.in now becomes my personal playground with ideas and businesses, over the last few weeks, I have been thinking about isBored and moved it to n00b.in. Currently it is a simple shoutbox where non-registered visitors can publish the reasons why they are bored.

In its future avatars, I invite help, tips and inputs from friends of n00b and other fellow netizens. What do you think isBored should eveolve into?

Apart from the big idea, here are few things that I have listed for isBored. These would essentially act as hygience, rather than features. I will try and implement them over a period of time.

Todo list

• Facebook application.
• User registration. Its not going to be mandatory for users to register but I want frequent users to register.
• Permalinks. Each post will have a permanent link. Helps in linking and traffic. Helps in marketing.
• Ratings and Ranking. Users should be able to vote on their favorite isBored quotes. And a sort algorithm.
• Widget. Something that allows users to pimp the quotes.
• Launch iCrib.

n00b.in gets a new home. Dreamhost. Thanks to Akshay Surve @ SocialSync for hosting.

In their words,

Apart from gaming, coke and pizza, everyone keeps telling us how they like trying out new tees and how there is no place to get their kind of tees from.

So we thought, why not a n00b.in TeeStore? What would it take? A few designs, lots of word-of-mouth-induced traffic, someone to print those tees, a courier company to ship it to all kinds of places (except de_dust2 or q3dm17 or World 8-4) and finally a place where we make them available. Yes, we are working on the last one. The other pieces of jigsaw puzzle should soon fall into place.

Thanks for being a part of our never-ending journey. When we are not working on n00b.in, we are on look-out for green mushrooms (as does that plumber Mario), trying to get better of each other in Railgun competitions, racing our Bullet Enfields, dreaming of ways to take over the world (and beat Brain in the process), eating all the street food that we can find and hoping to meet Bill, Charlie, John, John, Steve and Warren some day.
